Jean-Baptiste Janisset

FR / Jean-Baptiste Janisset (1990), est un artiste français vivant à Marseille. Diplômé de l’école des Beaux arts de Nantes, il a déjà montré son travail au Japon, au Bénin, en Allemagne, en Algérie, au Danemark et a participé à Paris à des évènements tels que le Prix de la Fondation Emerige, le Salon Jeune Création ou le Salon de Montrouge. En 2020, il expose en solo show à l’Atelier Chiffonnier à Dijon, à la Galerie Alain Gutharc (Paris) et en group show au MRAC Sérignan curated par Charlotte Cosson et Emmanuelle Luciani. En 2021, il est invité au group show Possédé.e.s au Mo.Co Montpellier curated par Vincent Honoré. Dans le cadre de Manifesta 13, il participe au group show Anima Mundi à l’abbaye Sainte-Victor orchestrée par Emmanuelle Luciani et il a également installé la sculpture Sourire aux anges du Frioul sur l’île du Frioul en marge du PAC Provence Art Contemporain. Engagé dans une pratique de sculpture d’après moulage, il restitue les formes en les mettant en scène dans des environnements qui leur confère une aura sacrée. Il façonne le métal, le plâtre et la lumière, chérissant les alliages dans une forme de syncrétisme.

EN / Jean-Baptiste Janisset (1990) is a French artist living in Marseille. Graduate of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nantes, he has already shown his work in Japan, Benin, Germany, Algeria and Denmark and has participated in Paris in events such as the Prix de la Fondation Emerige, the Salon Jeune Création and the Salon de Montrouge. In 2020, he had a solo show at the Atelier Chiffonnier in Dijon, at the Galerie Alain Gutharc (Paris) and a group show at the MRAC Sérignan curated by Charlotte Cosson and Emmanuelle Luciani. In 2021, he was invited to the group show Possessed.e.s at Mo.Co Montpellier curated by Vincent Honoré. As part of Manifesta 13, he participated in the group show Anima Mundi at the Saint-Victor Abbey curated by Emmanuelle Luciani and he also installed the sculpture Sourire aux anges du Frioul on the island of Frioul on the fringe of the PAC Provence Art Contemporain. Engaged in a practice of sculpture after casting, he restores the forms by staging them in environments that give them a sacred aura. He shapes metal, plaster and light, cherishing alloys in a form of syncretism.
