FR/ La décadence des moeurs et la décadence des formes sont les échos brillants de souvenirs qui se perdent dans les brumes spectrales de Venise.

Flottant sur la lagune comme un palais halluciné, la cité lacustre est l’écrin de fantasmes profonds, liés à sa longue histoire dont les chapitres sont autant de feux follets émanants du limon de ses fondations. De ses origines impériales aux brumes de sa lente décadence et de son statut de ville-musée adulée, Venise semble avoir toujours été cette anomalie humaine profondément romantique et hybride.

Entre latinité, influence nordique et emprunts orientaux à la Constantinople pillée, cette sculpture vivante est ambivalente, baignée d’un clair-obscur où évoluent le Titien, Giorgione et le sybarite Casanova, figure vampirique qui répand dans toute l’Europe les moeurs de son milieu.

Comme l’avant-garde d’une Dark Wave, Venise a été tour à tour symbole d’un empire marchand mondial puis décor grandiose de gialli italiens et de biennales artistiques.

Les fantasmes de forme créés par Bella Hunt & Ddc et Jenna Kaës sont des hommages à l’histoire mouvante et fluide de Venise et de son Dogat, dont les vestiges vénérés hantent encore les eaux de sa lagune. Uncanny Depths (Atlantis Vase UEFA) semble ainsi être un spectre antique sorti de la vase, tandis que Diesel Memories (Injector) suit l’ombre étincelante des hydravions de l’Adriatique, dans une traversée fantasmagorique de l’histoire de Venise.

Floating on the lagoon like a hallucinated palace, the lake city is the setting for deep fantasies, linked to its long history whose chapters are as many will-o'-the-wisps emanating from the silt of its foundations. From its imperial origins to the mists of its slow decadence and its status as an adored museum-city, Venice seems to have always been this deeply romantic and hybrid human anomaly.

Between Latinity, Nordic influence and oriental borrowings from plundered Constantinople, this living sculpture is ambivalent, bathed in a chiaroscuro where Titian, Giorgione and the sybaritic Casanova evolve, a vampiric figure who spreads the mores of his milieu throughout Europe.

Like the vanguard of a Dark Wave, Venice was in turn the symbol of a world merchant empire and then the grandiose setting for Italian gialli and art biennales.

The fantasies of form created by Bella Hunt & Ddc and Jenna Kaës are tributes to the shifting and fluid history of Venice and its Dogat, whose revered remains still haunt the waters of its lagoon. Uncanny Depths (Atlantis Vase UEFA) thus seems to be an ancient spectre emerging from the mud, while Diesel Memories (Injector) follows the glittering shadow of the Adriatic seaplanes, in a phantasmagorical crossing of the history of Venice.
